Meet the 2019 Cheer Coaches!
Kaitlyn Olcese joins us for her second year coaching for Rochester Redskins and is so excited to be your daughter's Redskins JV cheer coach this year!
Kaitlyn is currently a third grade teacher at Musson Elementary School. She grew up in the world of cheerleading and has had the privilege to compete across the United States along with at the Cheerleading Worlds and at the NCA Colligate Cheerleading Nationals. She was a competitive cheerleader for 12 years. Kaitlyn cheered All-Star for 10 years at Elite Cheer, in Chesterfield Michigan. Along with Varsity sideline at Anchor Bay High School, she finished her cheerleading career at Michigan State University, where she cheered for two more years as a member of the All-Girl Competitive Cheerleading team and the first ever STUNT team. Kaitlyn has coached youth cheerleading at both Elite Cheer and Capitol Cheer All-Star training facilities.
She is looking forward to an amazing season and cannot wait to watch your daughters fall in love with cheerleading!
Mandy Schneider (Freshman Cheer) joins us again for her third season coaching cheerleading. She coached the JR FR Cheer team in 2017 and in 2018 moved up to coach Freshman Cheer. Last year her team swept the Freshman cheer competition with first place finishes for Round 1, Round 2 and Overall Super Cheer Freshman Champs.
Mandy is a Rochester native with a long cheer history in the city. She attended Rochester Adams High School (along with Co-Coach Marisa Huber) where they cheered and earned 1995 and 1996 MCCA and 1996 MHSAA State Runner Up titles. Mandy went on to attended MIchigan State University and also worked as a staff member for Cheer!Michigan. After college, Mandy returned Rochester Adams, but this time as Varsity Cheer Coach from 2000-2005 leading her girls to two MCCA State Runner Up titles in 2004 and 2005. She has had the privilege of speaking at numerous cheerleading coaches conferences and judging the U of M cheer tryouts.
Mandy lives in Rochester Hills with her husband Ric (Freshman Gold Coach) and both of her kids are in the Redskins program. Ricky plays football for Freshman Gold and Lily cheers for Freshman Cheer. They are quite the Redskins Family.
Junior Freshman Cheer
Laura Matthews is thrilled to be part of the Redskins Family! Laura was the Rochester Adams Junior Varsity Cheer Coach from 2006-2009. Laura started cheering at 11 years old, and is a product of Rochester Community Schools – cheering her way through Van Hoosen Middle School and Rochester Adams High School.
Laura teaches Advanced Placement U.S. Government and Politics at Rochester High School. She is a CSPAN educator and United States Supreme Court Street Law Fellow. She has been teaching for 13 years and enjoys watching students grow in their understanding of the U.S. electoral and political process.
Laura resides in Rochester Hills, with her husband Kyle, and two daughters, Charlotte (Junior Freshman – Cheer) and Anna (Redskin in the making).
