DJ Reid

Varsity Head Coach

D.J. Reid is entering his 10th year coaching youth football and will be the Head Coach for our Varsity team for the upcoming 2017 season.  D.J. has been a Head Coach for the Redskins organization  for 8 yrs, including Freshman Maroon team (2 years), JV Maroon Team (3 years) and this year will be his 3rd year as our Varsity Head Coach. D.J. is very excited to continue to coach our Varsity team and prepare our kids for high school football.
D.J. started playing football in 5th grade and continued through high school at East Kentwood High School. D.J. earned numerous All-conference and All-Area awards and went on to play football at Central Michigan University as a wide receiver and was a 3 year letter man.  In 1993, he earned 2nd Team All-Mac as a wide receiver.
Coach Reid resides in Rochester Hills with his wife Mindi and their 2 sons, Drake and Ty.  This fall, Drake will be a junior at Rochester High School.  During his sophomore year he was an OAA Blue All League Defensive Back on the football team.  Drake was also a 5 year Life Time Rochester Redskin. Ty will enter the 8th grade this fall at West Middle School. Ty will be playing his last year with the Redskins on the Varsity team.

Josh Harmon

JV Gold Head Coach

Josh Harmon is entering his fifth season as a coach for the Rochester Redskins. This will be Josh’s first season as head coach for the Junior Varsity Gold squad. Josh was an assistant coach for 1 year with the Redskins Jr. Freshman Gold squad, 2 years with the Freshman Gold squad, and 1 year with the Junior Varsity Gold squad. For the past 4 years Josh has enjoyed watching each of these squads compete in the league playoffs.

Josh began playing football in the 6th grade at St. Hugo of the Hills. He continued playing for Bishop Foley High School for four years, where he earned 3 varsity letters as both a running back and defensive back. Josh was also a 4-year letter winner in track at Bishop Foley. Josh went on to play football for Adrian College where his career came to an end due to injury. Josh was no longer able to play football, but he was not ready to say good bye to the game. He spent 2 seasons as assistant head coach for the Madison Heights Wolverines varsity football team. Josh was also the head coach for St. Dennis boys and girls 7th and 8th grade varsity track teams.

Coach Harmon currently lives in Rochester Hills with his wife Megan and son Joshua. Joshua is entering his 6th season with the Redskins and during the off season he enjoys running in local 5K’s and volunteering for several charities.

 

Tim Youngblood

JV Maroon Head Coach

Tim Youngblood will be our 2017 Freshman Maroon coach! Tim is entering his 5th year as a coach for the Rochester Redskins. Tim was the Head Coach in 2016 for the Super Bowl Runner-up Freshman Maroon team and was head coach for the 2015 Freshman Maroon team that reached the semi-finals.  He was also an assistant coach on JV Maroon in 2013 and 2014. He has coached 6 years at Anchor Bay High School at the Freshman, JV and Varsity levels in addition to 1 year at Warren Fitzgerald High School. Tim also coached 1 year with the Romeo Junior Bulldogs. Tim played high school football at Utica Eisenhower High School, receiving numerous honors including MAC Red MVP, First Team All-State and served as the Quarterback in the East West All Star game.

Following high school, Tim continued his football career at Hillsdale College from 1993-1998 where he was a 3 year letter winner. Coach Youngblood will have 2 sons in the program (JT- Junior Varsity Maroon and Wade - Jr Freshman Maroon.) Married to Angela, they also have a daughter Lucy and Peyton (Redskins class of 2015) who will be a Sophomore at Stoney Creek H.S. in the fall of 2017.

 

 

TJ Vokal

Freshman Gold Head Coach

TJ Vokal is entering his 7th season coaching with the Rochester Redskins, and his 2nd as Head Coach of Freshman Gold.  TJ was an assistant on the Jr Freshman Gold and Freshman Gold teams from 2011-2014, and the 2015 Head Coach for Jr Fresh Gold.

TJ began his football career in Middle School, and then played for 3 time Regional Champion Sterling Heights Stevenson High School. TJ was elected captain and most dedicated teammate amongst his peers and coaches. In his senior year, TJ was elected All Conference, All County, and Academic All State. After High School, TJ attended The University of Michigan, & University of Detroit Mercy Dental School. When he is not coaching with the Rochester Redskins, TJ is a managing partner with Endodontic Associates at the Rochester & Clinton Township locations.

TJ currently resides in Rochester with his wife Kimberly and four children. Jon is currently a member of the Adams High School Varsity football and lacrosse teams, Joshua is entering his 6th season with the Redskins and 2nd on JV Gold, Jacob will begin his 3rd with the Redskins, and 1st on Freshman Gold. TJ's daughter, Jordyn, competes in travel soccer.

Karlos Griffin

Freshman Maroon Head Coach

Karlos Griffin has 15 years of coaching and administrative experience in youth athletics. He has a strong focus on the development of children and young adults by assisting them with their athletic and academic goals. Karlos has served as a Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator and Administrator for the Michigan Warriors and Ypsilanti Panthers working with children ages 5-14.

Karlos began his youth football career at age 8 and continued to play
football in high school at Ferndale High School, where he was a 3 year varsity team member and he also was a member of the basketball and track teams. Karlos earned All-Conference and All-County honors in both football and track in high school and honorable mention All-State honors in 1993 for football. He continued his football career collegiality at Bowling Green State University for 3 seasons as a Wide Receiver and Defensive Back.

Coach Griffin resides in Rochester Hills with his wife Angela and 3 daughters: Naomi (15), Makaiya (12) and Mahni (4).

Jr Freshman Maroon Coach

Bryan Heckman is starting his 2nd season as the Jr Freshman Gold Head Coach!

Bryan played high school football at Portage Central High School, receiving All-Conference honors. After high school, Bryan earned 4 varsity letters in football at Albion College. He started 18 straight games, earning All-Conference honors on 3 conference championship teams.

After college, Bryan worked with several different high school programs serving various roles. Currently on Friday nights, you will find Bryan working the sidelines as an MHSAA Football official.

Coach Bryan resides in Oakland Township with his wife Lori and their three sons; Bradley (8, Jr freshman), Jeremy (4) and Ryder (2.)

Jeremy Watters is entering his 3rd season with the Rochester Redskins and his first year as head coach of the Jr Freshman Maroon Team. He was an assistant coach on the Maroon Squad in 2015-2016 under coach Griffin.

Jeremy started playing youth football at the age of 8 and continued through his high school years at Ferndale High School. Jeremy has coached youth football with several organizations including I-9 sports and the Michigan Youth Flag Football Competitive League. Jeremy brings an understanding of the game with an emphasis on the importance of being disciplined and being held accountable for your actions on and off the field.

Jeremy currently resides in Rochester Hills with his jr. high sweetheart Tammie and their three sons; Brenson (11- Junior Varsity), Ryland (9- Freshman) and Koltyn (7-Junior Freshman). With three active boys, the family can normally be found on the football field, playing travel baseball or practicing their jump shots on a neighborhood court. Jeremy has a passion for Real Estate and is partnered with Max Broock Realtors as you have probably seen his sold signs in the area along with local ads proudly displaying his three boys.
