DJ Reid

Varsity Head Coach

D.J. Reid is entering his 11th year coaching youth football and will be the Head Coach for our Varsity team for the upcoming 2018 season.  D.J. has been a Head Coach for the Redskins organization for 9 years, including Freshman Maroon team (2 years), JV Maroon Team (3 years) and this year will be his 4th year as our Varsity Head Coach. D.J. is very excited to continue to coach our Varsity team and prepare our kids for high school football.

D.J. started playing football in 5th grade and continued through high school at East Kentwood High School. D.J. earned All-conference and All-Area awards and went on to play football at Central Michigan University as a wide receiver and was a 3-year letter man.  In 1993, he earned 2nd Team All-Mac as a wide receiver.

Coach Reid resides in Rochester Hills with his wife Mindi and their 2 sons, Drake and Ty.  This fall, Drake will be a senior at Rochester High School.  Drake is a Captain for the Varsity football team and is a 2 year all OAA wide receiver & defensive back.  Drake was a 5-year Lifetime Rochester Redskin. Ty will be entering the 9th grade this fall at Rochester High School. Ty was a 7-year Lifetime Rochester Redskin.

Tim Youngblood

JV Maroon Head Coach

Tim Youngblood will be our 2018 JV Maroon Head coach! Tim is entering his 6th year as a coach for the Rochester Redskins. Tim was the Head Coach in 2017 for the Super Bowl champion JV Maroon team.  He led the 2016 Freshman Maroon team to the Superbowl in 2016 where they took 2nd place and in 2015 made it to the semi-finals with the Freshman Maroon team. He has coached 6 years at Anchor Bay High School at the Freshman, JV and Varsity levels in addition to 1 year at Warren Fitzgerald High School. Tim also coached 1 year with the Romeo Junior Bulldogs. Tim played high school football at Utica Eisenhower High School, receiving numerous honors including MAC Red MVP, First Team All-State and served as the Quarterback in the East West All Star game.

Following high school, Tim continued his football career at Hillsdale College from 1993-1998 where he was a 3 year letter winner. Coach Youngblood will have 2 sons in the program (JT- Junior Varsity Maroon and Wade - Jr Freshman Maroon.) Married to Angela, they also have a daughter Lucy and Peyton (Redskins class of 2015) who will be a Junior at Stoney Creek H.S. in the fall of 2017.

TJ Vokal

JV Gold Head Coach

TJ Vokal is entering his 8th season coaching with the Rochester Redskins, and his 1st as Head Coach of JV Gold.  TJ was head coach of Freshman Gold from 2016-2017, and Head Coach for Jr Freshman Gold in 2015, as well as an assistant on the Jr Freshman Gold and Freshman Gold teams from 2011-2014.

TJ began his football career in Middle School, and then played for 3 time Regional Champion Sterling Heights Stevenson High School. TJ was elected captain and most dedicated teammate amongst his peers and coaches. In his senior year, TJ was elected All Conference, All County, and Academic All State. After High School, TJ attended The University of Michigan, & University of Detroit Mercy Dental School. When he is not coaching with the Rochester Redskins, TJ is a managing partner with Endodontic Associates at the Rochester & Clinton Township locations.

TJ currently resides in Rochester with his wife Kimberly and four children. Jon is currently a member of the Adams High School Varsity football and lacrosse teams, Joshua is entering his 6th season with the Redskins and 2nd on JV Gold, Jacob will begin his 4th with the Redskins. TJ's daughter, Jordyn, competes in travel soccer.

Karlos Griffin

Freshman Maroon Head Coach

Karlos Griffin has 15 years of coaching and administrative experience in youth athletics with a strong focus on the development of children and young adult by assisting them with their athletic and academic goals.  Karlos has served as a Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator and Administrator for the Michigan Warriors and Ypsilanti Panthers working with children ages 5-14.

Karlos began his youth football career at age 8 and continued to play football in high school at Ferndale High School where he was a 3 year varsity team member and he also was a member of the basketball and track teams.  Karlos earned All-Conference and All-County honors in both football and track in high school and honorable mention All-State honors in 1993 for football.  He continued his football career collegiately at Bowling Green State University for 3 seasons as a Wide Receiver and Defensive Back.

Coach Griffin resides in Rochester Hills with his wife Angela and 3 daughters Naomi (18), Makaiya (15) and Mahni (6).  Coach Griffin and his family love being a part of the Rochester community and Redskins organization!

Jr Freshman Coach

Mike Bentley is entering his 3rd season with the Rochester Redskins and his first year as Head Coach of the Freshman Gold Team. He was an assistant coach on the Jr. Freshman Gold team in 2016-2017.

Coach Bentley began playing youth football in 5th grade for the Shelby Lions and continued through high school at Utica Eisenhower High School. Coach Bentley has also spent several years coaching flag football and managing youth baseball teams.
Coach Bentley resides in Rochester Hills with his wife Melissa, three sons and their dog Boomer. Coach Bentley’s sons all play Rochester Redskins twins Chase and Evan (11- JV Gold) and Owen (9-Freshman Gold).

Jeremy Watters is entering his 4th season with the Rochester Redskins and his second year as head coach of the Jr. Freshman Team. He was an assistant coach on the Maroon Squad during the 15-16 season before taking over the head coach position in 2017. Jeremy started playing youth football at the age of 8 and continued through his High School years at Ferndale High. Jeremy has coached youth football with several organizations including I-9 Sports and the Michigan Youth Flag Football Competitive League. Jeremy brings an understanding of the game at the youth level with a major emphasis on the importance of being disciplined and held accountable for your actions on and off the field. Jeremy currently resides in Rochester Hills with his wife Tammie and their three sons; Brenson (12 – JV Maroon), Ryland (10-Freshman Maroon) and Koltyn (8-Freshman Maroon.)  With three active boys, the family can normally be found on the football field, playing travel baseball or practicing their jump shots on a neighborhood court. Jeremy has a passion for Real Estate and is partnered with Max Broock Realtors as you have probably seen his sold signs in the area along with local ads that proudly display his three boys.
